Story

The creator behind REWIND Cà Phê got his start as a barista in the early 2000s. He eventually traded the coffee shop for a career as an illustrator in the video game industry, spending the next 15 years creating commercial art. But after several trips to Vietnam and immersive coffee training there, his passion for coffee was reignited.REWIND draws inspiration from his nostalgia for the '90s and Y2K era, when there was less scrolling, more human connection, and music still had tactile controls. It's also a return to his own days behind the coffee bar, crafting drinks and interacting with people.At its heart is traditional Vietnamese coffee: dark, heavy-bodied, and full of character. Inspired by Vietnam's street-side coffee culture, it celebrates the simplicity of sipping strong robusta brewed from a phin filter while watching people and motorcycles pass by. With REWIND, he hopes to bring some of that flavor and feeling to San Francisco.
